We’ve blended orignal rustic features with modern luxuries.

Renovation

Built in the 1800s, this was originally a coach house and barn. With horses providing the working power before machinery on the farm, a building to house the wagons, coaches and horses was required. You can still see the large brick lined arch in the center of the building, where the largest horse drawn coaches were housed. Whilst the upstairs of the building was used as a hayloft.

In 2015 we started the renovation. Working with a team of builders and architects we spent the following 18 months turning the dilapidated buildings into a cosy holiday retreat. It took careful planning to incorporate the original features with modern building regulations. Now here we are – over 100 years after it’s beginning – Paxton View Barn is once again in use and welcoming guests.

Features

Paxton View Barn is situated within the grounds of a tradition Welsh smallholding. Our careful renovation now provides 5 star quality accommodation for up to 6 people, with the rustic features of a building well over 100 years old.

The barn has it’s own gates for privacy. Inside which is parking space for 3 cars. To the side of the barn you have your own lawned area and patio, perfect for al-fresco dinning. There is also a large hot tub with outdoor lighting for your use. The lack of light pollution in the countryside makes for a tranquil evening of star gazing from the warm bubbles.

Throughout the barn we have kept original features such as exposed brickwork and oak lintels. A brick arched full length feature window lets light flow in year round. Carefully installed under the stone flooring we have underfloor heating to keep you warm. For the ultimate cosy night in, why not light the wood burner and snuggle up on the sofa. We always have complementary fire wood ready for you. Your log fire effortlessly fills the open plan living space with warmth. Here there are sofas, throws, dinning room table and bespoke fitted kitchen.

On the ground floor there is a twin bedroom and separate toilet. Upstairs is the master bedroom with en-suite bathroom and shower. The second bedroom has a modern balcony with table and chairs – the perfect spot to take in the gorgeous panoramic views of the local area and relax. Be sure to look across the valley to see Paxtons Tower, after which the barn was named.

For children we have fire guards, cot, stair-gate and high chair if needed. WiFi is available for free, along with linen and bike storage. Pets are not allowed. Both upstairs bedrooms have king size beds. Additionally, your upstairs bedrooms have Freeview TV and the main room has a 42″ SmartTV and DVD player. The fitted kitchen has electric oven, induction hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, and dishwasher. A washing machine is installed under the stairs. You’re welcome to walk around the gardens and we would love to show you all the animals we have living here. They are quite a collection of characters.
